Introducing FootbankSystems' training program for inexperienced engineers!

IT basic training for inexperienced system engineers

Hello! This is the Footbank Systems Public Relations Officer.

At FootbankSystems, we have a three-month external basic IT training program in place to develop inexperienced system engineers.

This time, we would like to introduce the training content based on the impressions of those who have participated so far!

Game Creation Training

First, in order to learn the basic concepts of programming, I created a game using Scratch.
Scratch allows you to program by combining pictures called "blocks."

It's a tool that even children can use, but even adults find themselves getting addicted to it once they try it (laughs).

And, the basic principle of programming is that "only what you command will be executed"
It's so frustrating for a beginner...

It was a lot of fun to present the games we created in groups and share various ideas!

Java, OracleDB, HTML/CSS basic training

It is often used in the field,Java, OracleDB, HTML/CSSWe studied the following.
The course includes lectures by instructors and practical exercises using Eclipse.

First, we learned about the conceptual aspects of web systems.
In order to be able to build a system, it is not enough to master one language, such as Java.
A web system is primarily made up of a combination of the front end, which is the "face" of the system that users see directly and is created using HTML/CSS, and the back end, which handles the database and application logic.
I also learned that each programming language has its own characteristics, and that development requires a broad range of knowledge rather than a deep understanding of one language.

Personal Development Exercises

We built a sales management system based on the knowledge we learned in the training.

By going through the entire system development process from design to development to testing to release, we were able to carry out development with an awareness of actual projects.

When things didn't go as expected, there were times when we discussed things within the group and solved the problem, so it was great to be able to have training that was based on the real world!

At the end, we had to give a presentation to our seniors, and I was really nervous...

How to work as a systems engineer

During the training, I was able to learn how to ask questions when I don't understand something and how to manage tasks through daily practice.
I also realized that my communication skills would be required much more than I had initially imagined.

No matter how much IT knowledge you acquire, the only way to acquire the knowledge you need at your assigned workplace is to be taught on the spot.

In order to acquire the skills necessary to be able to work in the field as quickly as possible, there are many things that you cannot do without being taught by others, so communication skills are essential.

I'm really glad I participated in this training because I was able to acquire basic knowledge and experience work that was reminiscent of the actual workplace!

If you feel that there is a high hurdle to overcome in becoming a systems engineer without any prior experience, FootbankSystems offers comprehensive support for those with no experience.
We have many employees who are actually working as system engineers, so please feel free to contact us.
